Wood is recruiting for a National Subsea Specialist to join our team in Equatorial Guinea.

Subsea systems encompass the design, operation, and maintenance of underwater equipment and infrastructure to ensure cohesive and reliable functionality throughout the lifecycle of a field. This includes managing interfaces, processes, and data systems, and identifying the main components and their relationships. Subsea systems engineering also involves evaluating different field layouts and system configurations, and addressing flow assurance issues, with these tasks lead / supported by Subsea Advisors and SMEs.

The role will be primarily office-based in our client campus but will require time offshore to support subsea campaigns.

Please note this position is only open to National Equatorial Guinea personnel.

Location: Onshore Equatorial Guinea

Work Pattern: Office Based Monday - Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports Subsea Engineering activities in Mid-Africa EG.
  • Participates in technical, procedural, and project planning reviews relevant to subsea asset integrity reviews, inspections, and interventions.
  • Supports Subsea FIRM implementation and application.
  • Collaborates with SCM to ensure accuracy of subsea inventory quantity, condition, and location and apply critical sparing min/max strategy to coordinate refurbishment or replacement.
  • Collaborates with SCM to plan and oversee inspections and maintenance of subsea equipment, inclusive of both in-country and out of country maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborates with local vendors regarding subsea equipment and services.
  • Collaborates with planners, logistics and SCM to maintain deliverable schedules.
  • Collaborates with procurement and contracts groups to provide equipment and service requirements, provide input to generation of service and purchase orders, and track progress of orders and invoices.
  • Contributes to and maintains the Subsea Asset Integrity Management Program, including identification and tracking of anomalies and bad actors.
  • Collaborates with document control and operations to ensure accuracy and availability of subsea equipment documentation, inclusive of managing updates to revision-controlled documents.
  • Coordinates with representatives from regional operators to identify and optimize long range planning to capture opportunities for resource sharing synergies.
  • Supports intervention planning and preparations, inclusive of collaboration with logistics and customs groups to ensure equipment availability pre-job and exports of rental equipment post-job.
  • Participates in subsea inspection and intervention work scopes, providing onboard representation support.

Subsea Specialist Competency Targets

• Identify the main components of, their relationships to, and their purposes in the subsea system

• Identify the system's interfaces with other disciplines, including subsurface, topsides process, flow assurance, production operations, hull and moorings, drilling and completions

• Outline the basic aspects of an "operating envelope" for a subsea system including steady state hydraulic and thermal analysis and performance

• Identify the system design parameters, philosophies and data streams that need to be managed across the subsea disciplines and throughout field life

• Identify practices and key requirements for subsea operations, maintenance and interventions

• Identify the requirements of a subsea system integration testing

• Identify requirements for system monitoring throughout field life and the technical disciplines to be involved in performance management

QUALIFICATIONS

What makes you remarkable?

Essential requirements for this role:
  • Subsea Engineering degree or similar formal training with certification.
  • Several years experience in a similar position in the oil & gas industry
  • Fluency in English language

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
