A leading global player in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing is expanding its operations in India. Pune is being established as a core hub for gearbox production, supporting multi-MW turbine drivetrain manufacturing. This facility integrates heavy engineering, precision assembly, high-torque machinery, complex lifting systems, and advanced testing infrastructure.
As the plant scales up, the focus is on increasing productivity, standardising safety systems, and building a high-performance workforce. Position Summary
We are seeking a Team Leader, Quality (Equipment) to drive equipment standards, technical evaluations, troubleshooting processes, and technology integration across drivetrain manufacturing. This role ensures that the equipment ecosystem meets global engineering standards and supports stable, high-precision production. The position involves close collaboration with equipment engineering, maintenance, production, supplier quality, global R&D, and external technical institutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Equipment Standards & Documentation: Develop technical standards, review equipment drawings, and coordinate acceptance processes.
• Technology Research: Conduct research in CNC machining, mechatronics, automation, and smart manufacturing systems.
• Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis: Provide on-site support for diagnosing faults, defining repair strategies, and preventive actions.
• Documentation & Localisation: Manage equipment documentation, analyse downtime trends, and lead spare parts localisation initiatives.
• External Collaboration: Engage with universities, research institutions, and equipment manufacturers to accelerate technology adoption.
• Training & Development: Deliver structured training for maintenance teams and operators to strengthen technical capability.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in equipment engineering, quality, or CNC/mechatronics within drivetrain, gearbox, automotive, or precision manufacturing.
• Strong technical expertise in CNC systems, automated machining, mechatronics, diagnostics, and technical standards.
• Proven experience collaborating with global engineering teams and equipment suppliers.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
