Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will shape the future of our Service MV Drives portfolio by implementing upgrades and ensuring mechanical excellence. As a Mechanical Product Engineer, you will design parts, create technical documentation, and manage configurations and part lists. Working closely with R&D, engineering, production teams, and suppliers, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions that meet customer needs.
The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid
From initial concept through pilot phases and continuous improvement, your mechanical skills will help us meet project deadlines and maintain a robust tool landscape, including our PLM environment.

From initial concept through pilot phases and continuous improvement, your mechanical skills will help us meet project deadlines and maintain a robust tool landscape, including our PLM environment.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Creating and maintaining mechanical drawings in M-CAD (Solid Edge / Creo), generating complete technical documentation (3D, 2D) and part lists in SAP and PLM, as well as arranging update and upgrade kits.
- Analyzing and optimizing past hardware releases to design upgrade solutions that fit form and function with the installed base, ensure reusability across the product portfolio, and meet updated standards by incorporating new components and functionalities.
- Coordinating and collaborating with electrical engineering, project managers, release managers, production lines, sourcing managers, and manufacturers to ensure cost-optimized production, timely quality deliverables, and alignment on design aspects during reviews and pilot projects.
- Sharing and contributing knowledge across business units, attending project meetings, presenting design assignments, providing feedback for continuous product and process improvement, and proposing necessary modifications.
Qualifications for the role
- You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering (HF or FH) and bring several years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, or related fields.
- You possess extensive proficiency in Solid Edge as a CAD tool, with SAP knowledge for managing parts and bills of material; experience with Windchill PDM and Creo is beneficial.
- You are detail-oriented, highly accountable, and focused on delivering quality results.
- You have a good understanding of medium-voltage products and knowledge of PLM environments is considered favorable.
- You are business fluent in English, and German skills are beneficial.
- You exhibit a methodical and organized approach to your work, while also valuing collaboration with others.
- You bring a collaborative, solution-focused mindset along with proficient written and verbal communication skills.
