Overview

This role sits within the Buildings & Places Business Unit of AtkinsRéalis, offering diverse services to its clients. We require a driven and experienced Commercial Manager with a strong background in design/engineering consultancy.

Joining the current commercial team, the successful applicant will support the team with a wide-range of commercial tasks from reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of complex agreements with both clients and suppliers. You will also be responsible for leading the commercial governance process for bids that fall within your remit and hold the wider division to account aligned to AtkinsRéalis approvals framework.

Your role

• To provide support to the B&P Commercial team by assisting with commercial processes, governance activities, and project administration throughout the project life cycle.
• Assist the Commercial team with day-to-day tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Help review Appointments/Frameworks/Call off /task order opportunities under guidance from senior team members.
• Support the preparation and documentation of contract and project reviews in line with business standards.
• Provide support to design teams working closely with the legal team where required.
• Participate in initiatives to improve commercial awareness and performance within the business.
• Assist with tracking head contracts from service request to award and ensure proposals follow governance processes.
• Help project teams with basic contractual compliance tasks, including maintaining records and supporting risk management

About you

• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Basic understanding of commercial principles (training will be provided).
• Experience working in multidisciplinary design teams.
• Solutions focused approach to ensure quick and positive outcomes during tendering events or contract discussions.
• Strong drive with sound judgement. Quickly establishes credibility and sphere of influence.
• Drafting of contractual correspondence.
• Preferably experience within a similar role in design consultancy.
• Knowledge of internal governance processes.
• A working knowledge standard forms of contract particularly NEC.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
