Job Summary

The role is responsible for providing specialist expertise within the assigned technical discipline, contributing to product and solution development that aligns with market needs. The position collaborates closely with Product Line Managers (PLMs), APT Directors, Business Development, Tender teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical input, feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and competitive commercial offers. The role ensures adherence to company standards, drives knowledge-sharing initiatives, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY

Function Dimension Responsibilities

  • Possess specialist knowledge within the assigned technical discipline.
  • Collaborate with PLMs and APT Directors to develop products and solutions aligned with market requirements.
  • Support Business Development in client meetings as needed.
  • Work with the Tender team to prepare competitive commercial and technical offers using fit-for-purpose technology that mitigates liability risks to NOV.
  • Provide timely and high-quality responses to clients and P&L centers for commercial projects.
  • Deliver efficient and quality input into technology development projects.
  • Execute feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and process studies related to the assigned discipline.
  • Identify issues or discrepancies within work processes and propose improvements.
  • Maintain strong awareness of competitor technologies and execution methodologies.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of industry standards relevant to the assigned discipline.
  • Support execution of technology strategy in collaboration with APT Director and Manager.
  • Contribute to corporate knowledge-sharing initiatives and participate in the development of internal training programs.

  • Ensure adherence to relevant working methods, emphasizing environmental and health considerations.
  • Perform tasks to a high standard of quality; proactively identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure processes comply with internal and external requirements, and are documented, measured, evaluated, improved, and secured.
  • Execute tasks in accordance with company policies, procedures, execution models, and standard tools/systems.
  • Work closely with peers to achieve shared goals within NOV.


Tender Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to indirect team members involved in tender development.
  • Coordinate and review tender inputs to ensure submission of winning proposals.
  • Work with tender and application engineering teams to devise innovative and differentiating solutions.
  • Ensure all tenders are cost-focused and tailored to maximize client appeal.
  • Manage communication with clients and participate in negotiations within the approved mandate.
  • Conduct post-tender reviews to ensure lessons learned are captured and shared with the Tender Group.
  • Upon award, ensure seamless handover to the execution team following company procedures.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Essential:

  • Master of Science degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep knowledge of applicable technology, commercial aspects, market trends, and competitor offerings.


Desirable:

  • Experience working in a global, multicultural engineering or technology-driven environment.
  • Previous tendering, client-facing, or project development experience.
