The Digital Sales Engineer will engage with our customers though digital and remote sales tools to achieve the agreed sales targets. This role will own the interaction with customers that do not require periodic face to face contact or prefer to interact through integrated digital platforms.

In this position, the employee is available for customers at all times via phone, email, or text and ensure full customer satisfaction in doing business with Emerson through our digital channels.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Responsible for the achievement of Sales, Bookings and online purchasing targets for the full Measurement Solutions Portfolio within the agreed segment of customers through digital and remote interactions.
  • Own the bookings forecast for the segment and ensure monthly delivery of the volume commitment, as well as execute immediate recovery actions if any risk is identified
  • Proactively work with customers to increase digital self service purchasing. Specially, to actively move all accounts that may place unsolicited orders or common RFQs into a digital self-service platform. Be fluent in the benefits of digital enablement and articulate a clear action plan for implementation.
  • Act as single human point of contact to secure customer satisfaction during and after the transition. Provide pre- and post-sales support and regular follow-up only when necessary, spending your time focused on areas of most value is to the utmost importance to be successful in this role.
  • When necessary, engage with customers through digital tools, e-commerce platforms and other digital means (including Teams and phones) to assist customers in product selection, application support, access to expertise and placement of orders.
  • Manage the agreements and pricing of all customer segments within your territory to ensure we get maximum price on all orders, without micro management on each small quote.
  • Understand and use available data analytics and reports to optimize account growth strategies, including whitespace analysis, pricing actions and customer segmentation
  • Use local Marketing teams to drive continuous demand of new opportunities into your pipeline
  • Actively coordinate with colleagues and orchestrate the support of subject matter experts, Product Managers or other company stakeholders to create a compelling and differentiating value proposition for the selected customers. Use these resources as effectively as possible to maximize your time with customer engagements.
  • Monitor and understand the competitive environment at each account and work to displace competition and defend Emerson's position
  • Proactively document and share success cases, customer feedback and quantifiable business results in the assigned customer segment.
  • Contribute to the definition of bottom-up sales targets on a yearly basis based on account plans and performance of the assigned account portfolio
  • Cooperate closely with operations, order management, project execution and service teams to ensure the appropriate delivery of commitments to customers, and work to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Support the deployment of new digital tools and engagement platforms as new technologies become available.


Who You Are:

  • The role with work with customers to actively encourage the transition towards digital integration, self-servicing and digital interactions in cooperation with the e-commerce managers and other relevant stakeholders, and act as the human point of contact behind the digital relationship.


For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Degree education (it is not critical to be an Engineer for this role - non Engineers should apply)
  • Demonstrated experience selling technologies to customers in the relevant industry
  • Experience in engaging with customers through digital platforms and driving e-commerce plans
  • Interest in new technology and open mind for innovation
  • People person, high interpersonal skills, relationship builder, networker
  • Comfortable with change and able to succeed in contexts of uncertainty
  • Excellent persuasion skills
  • Business acumen and understanding of commercial contracts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skill both in English and local language
