Short description

A full-time Shipbuilding Engineer role in South Holland, focused on designing and engineering maritime vessels from start to finish. The candidate must already live in the Netherlands and speak Dutch fluently.

Function description

The Shipbuilding Engineer will be involved in the complete shipbuilding process, from concept design to production and delivery. This includes working on new build vessels, custom projects, and modifications to existing fleet equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating shipbuilding designs based on functional and operational requirements.
• Producing technical drawings and construction plans using 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Cadmatic).
• Supporting sales with 3D renderings.
• Collaborating with engineers, product specialists, and other departments to develop integrated solutions.
• Supervising subcontractors when needed.
• Ensuring compliance with class regulations and safety standards.
• Monitoring deadlines, budgets, and quality.
• Staying up to date with developments in shipbuilding.
• Reporting to the Engineering Manager.

The role offers close involvement in the production process and short communication lines between engineering and operations.

Requirements

• Must already live in the Netherlands.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
• MBO or HBO degree in Naval Architecture or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, Rhino, and Cadmatic.
• Strong interest in ships and maritime engineering.
• Practical, hands-on mentality.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Good planning and communication skills.
• Able to work under time pressure and report issues promptly.
