Job Purpose:
Weatherford have an excellent opportunity for an experienced SSA Supply Chain Manager to join the team in Luanda, Angola. The SSA Supply Chain Manager will lead supply chain execution across the Sub-Saharan Africa Region, driving performance improvement and contributing to an industry-leading supply chain environment. Partner with the Country Director to execute supply chain activities efficiently, leveraging global processes for materials, inventory, procurement, and sourcing. The SSA Supply Chain Manager will lead supply chain execution across the Sub-Saharan Africa Region, driving performance improvement and contributing to an industry-leading supply chain environment. Partner with the Country Director to execute supply chain activities efficiently, leveraging global processes for materials, inventory, procurement, and sourcing. Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Oversee daily inventory transactions and ensure accurate ERP recording.
- Conduct cycle counts, resolve discrepancies, and monitor stock levels.
- Support operational teams with inventory performance understanding.
Warehouse & Stores Operations
- Supervise stores team in receiving, storing, and issuing materials.
- Optimize warehouse layout and ensure HSE compliance.
SCM Operations
- Maximize service levels while meeting inventory goals.
- Drive logistics, distribution, procurement, and warehouse strategy.
- Implement DRP and JDE usage across supply chain functions.
- Improve vendor relationships, OTD performance, and inventory turns.
- Reduce slow-moving and excess inventory.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, and develop the stores team.
- Promote safety, accuracy, and accountability culture.
- Lead cross-functional teams for strategic initiatives.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify inefficiencies and implement best practices.
- Prepare inventory performance reports and KPIs.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure material availability.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in inventory, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Leadership skills for managing broad-scope projects.
- Experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial service environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS certification.
- Six Sigma/Lean certification.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Product or market knowledge.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
