JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV is seeking a Coring Supervisor to join our team in Côte d'Ivoire. In this role you will be responsible for planning and supervising coring operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality core recovery. The role involves coordinating offshore consultants, working closely with drilling and subsurface teams, and managing service providers. The Coring Supervisor ensures proper core handling and preservation while meeting project objectives and client expectations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate wireline and/or conventional coring systems and wellsite services as coring supervisor.
• Instruct / mentor / train coring technician and specialist on all requirements.
• Participate in Operator pre-spud / DWOP meetings for basic operations, morning meeting at rig-site.
• Review procedures, generate risk assessment & JHA.
• Train on more advanced engineering principles
• Operate advanced systems unsupervised if already certified to run those systems.
• Liaise with customer, drilling contractor personnel and office on job requirement and readiness.
• Undertake competency assessor training.
• Complete all job paperwork and supply office with all required paperwork for the jobs in a timely manner (safety meetings, service ticket, equipment and personnel timesheet, core log, reports etc.)
• Acquire any additional information/data required as per the request of office and communicate with the customer to get required data in event of investigation requirements.
• Complete job debriefs after every job with line manager.
• Complete mandatory core competencies in line with area requirements including HSEQ.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Engineering or Geology Degree preferred (Desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in a similar operational position within Oil and Gas specifically rig site related

SKILLS, TRAINING, OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Drilling & Completion Process
• Basic understanding of Geology
