QA/QC Engineer / Quality Engineer
Purpose:
The QA/QC Engineer / Quality Engineer ensures the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of
quality standards across all engineering activities and projects in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and
relevant industry codes (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.). The role involves quality assurance, inspection planning,
material verification, documentation control, vendor/client coordination, and continuous improvement
initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System (QMS) Compliance
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures in line with ISO 9001:2015 and project-specific
requirements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications (ASME, ASTM, API, ISO).
- Support internal audits and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain organized quality records ensuring traceability for audits and inspections.
2. Project Quality Assurance & Control
- Develop, execute, and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for ongoing projects.
- Conduct inspections of materials, welding, fabrication, and NDT activities.
- Coordinate materials for inspection with manufacturers, third-party inspectors (TPIs), and clients.
- Review and update Purchase Order (PO) notes and material specifications post-sales order
booking.
- Identify, document, and resolve non-conformities; perform root cause analysis and propose
corrective actions.
- Compile and submit Material Record Books (MRBs) for client review and approval.
3. Inspection & Documentation
- Review and verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs) for compliance.
- Ensure supplier documents are complete and accurate before submission to clients.
- Maintain QA/QC documentation including WPS, PQR, MTCs, inspection reports, NCRs, and final
quality dossiers.
- Prepare audit-ready reports as per project and client requirements.
4. Vendor & Client Coordination
- Share specifications with mills or suppliers for quotations.
- Assist in vendor evaluation, supplier audits, and material certification verification.
- Communicate with clients to align expectations and ensure quality satisfaction.
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, and supply chain teams for inspections, testing, and
documentation.
5. Continuous Improvement & Training Support
- Participate in initiatives to enhance QA/QC processes.
- Mentor junior staff and site technicians on quality practices and inspection procedures.
- Support training programs related to quality awareness, documentation, and compliance.
6. Interdepartmental Coordination
- Liaise with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Engineering for inspection planning, document
verification, and material handling.
- Provide early alerts on potential quality issues affecting project schedules or client requirements.
7. Decision-Making Authority
- Prioritize document review and inspections independently.
- Assess completeness and compliance of documentation before submission.
- Evaluate material conformity based on MTCs, specifications, and inspections.
- Escalate significant non-conformities or quality issues to supervisors or QA/QC managers.
8. Other / General Duties
- Support internal audits and quality compliance initiatives.
- Maintain traceable and organized inspection records.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in QA/QC processes.
- Attend team meetings and assist with project-related documentation as required.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: QA/QC processes, welding inspection, NDT methods, material inspection,
documentation control.
- Standards Expertise: ISO 9001:2015, ASME, ASTM, API, and other industry codes.
- Analytical Skills: Root cause analysis, non-conformity resolution, problem-solving.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurate, audit-ready QA/QC documentation and reporting.
- Vendor & Client Coordination: Effective liaison with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
- Leadership & Training: Mentor junior staff; support quality training initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in QA/QC engineering, preferably in oil & gas industry.
- Preferred Certifications: ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, or equivalent
