This internship takes place in the framework of a research project launched in 2023. It consists of developping strategic tools for borehole image interpretation (BHI). An automatic dissolution recognition tool was created and integrated into our routine interpretation. Improvements of the tool capabilities could allow for deeper analysis of the dissolution trend : sedimentological or structural.
Activities
The intern will have to develop a Python code that will look for the prefered feature alignment along a borehole wall (cylindrical shape) and compare them with pre-existing interpreted bedding or structural planes. Ideally, results would have to be easely identified at small or large scale. The python code would have to be embedded in a tool suite and tested on set of in house wellbore.
Candidate Profile
Currently preparing for a Master's degree at an engineering school or university and looking for a 6-month internship starting in February 2026.
