Job Title: Senior Site Construction Planner

Location: Padeswood, North Wales

 

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Construction Planner to join our project controls team. In this role, you will be pivotal in planning and optimizing project schedules, ensuring projects run smoothly, safely, and meet industry standards and deadlines. You will create and update schedules, manage risks, review contractor plans, and utilize advanced techniques to track project performance. Effective communication and collaboration across multiple teams will be key to your success.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Planner, you will support the construction phase of a major carbon capture project located adjacent to a cement plant in North Wales. This is a site-based role requiring presence five days per week. You will:

  • Provide detailed construction and commissioning input to the project, ensuring alignment of all schedules.
  • Assist in project construction and commissioning, execution planning, and contracting strategies.
  • Prepare, review, and agree on documents with site management to communicate installation sequencing, schedule timings, and resource requirements to subcontractors, project management, procurement, and site supervision/HSE teams.
  • Develop construction and commissioning workflows to support project execution.
  • Liaise with engineers and Construction Management to maximize the use of construction knowledge and experience, focusing on constructability.
  • Review project requirements using the constructability checklist to identify critical execution issues and assist with the overall schedule by incorporating key subcontractor data.
  • Monitor shipping and delivery forecasts in conjunction with the Warehouse/Materials Control Manager, ensuring alignment with ROS dates and project schedule requirements.
  • Assist with turnover dates for systems and sub-systems, setting realistic milestones for subcontractors.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a construction/site-based EPCC planning role.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 planning software.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with construction plans and specifications, tracking changes, and developing project documentation.
  • Experience tracking and analyzing schedule variances and knowledge of how to respond appropriately.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors’ plans simultaneously, including coordination with direct field labor.
  • Excellent understanding of commissioning processes and procedures.
