Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Verification Lead at ABB Oy, High Power division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. You will have a key role in the verification and approval process of frequency converters developed in our R&D projects. Our team is responsible for verification measurements of new frequency converter series. We perform R&D and type tests for unreleased high-power low and medium voltage drives in our world-class R&D laboratories.

The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for

• Planning and executing R&D and type tests for new medium voltage frequency converter series in global project
• Building test setups, executing and reporting
• Supporting problem solving of frequency converter hardware and software related issues
• Working in close co-operation with different design teams, approval engineers and authorities located in different countries

Qualifications for the role

• Proven experience in designing or testing frequency converters, understanding of frequency converter control system and software
• Knowledge of any of the following are considered an advantage: medium voltage systems, product safety standards of frequency converters, ABB converters, requirements for the competence of testing laboratories
• You are keen on training and coaching other interest groups
• You are fluent in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
• Willingness for occasional travelling
• A proactive working mindset
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
