Terms of Use
- Author and update SDSs using specialized software tools, incorporating chemical, health, safety, and regulatory information in compliance with global standards.
- Classify substances and mixtures for physical, health, and environmental hazards in accordance with GHS, CLP, OSHA HazCom, WHMIS, and other regional regulations.
- Ensure SDSs and labels meet global regulatory requirements and are accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date.
- Interpret and apply hazard communication regulations globally to determine SDS and labeling impacts.
- Collect and analyze chemical data from suppliers, internal databases, and regulatory sources.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to verify chemical compositions and resolve classification issues.
- Communicate regulatory requirements, SDS content, and updates effectively to business units.
- Provide recommendations for safer chemical alternatives with lower environmental impact.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/Masters in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in hazard communication, SDS authoring, or chemical regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of chemical hazard classification and labeling under:
- OSHA HazCom (US)
- CLP/REACH (EU)
- WHMIS (Canada)
- UN GHS
- Familiarity with transportation regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG, TDG).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for interpreting toxicological and regulatory data.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to stay updated on global regulatory changes and implement them effectively.
