Preface

We are seeking an experienced SAP Operations Manager to lead and manage a small SAP team at our operational site in the Majnoon Oil Field, Iraq. This role is critical to ensuring smooth SAP system operations that support oil and gas field processes.

SAP integrates procurement, maintenance, and compliance, ensuring efficiency, safety, and real-time visibility for Majnoon's complex operations, enabling optimized asset performance and strategic decision-making.

Professional Summary

The ideal candidate will be an Iraqi national with strong SAP expertise in excess of 10 years, fluent in English, and familiar with oil and gas operational workflows. Knowledge of Chinese language is an added advantage. The role requires hands-on leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic site environment.

Professional Experience

SAP Operations Manager

Majnoon Oil Field, Iraq

• Manage day-to-day SAP operations for site-based oil and gas activities.

• Lead a small SAP team to ensure system availability and performance.

• Collaborate with site operations teams to align SAP processes with field requirements.

• Monitor and resolve SAP-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.

• Ensure compliance with company standards and data security protocols.

• Develop and implement SAP operational procedures tailored to oil field workflows.

• Provide training and mentoring to team members on SAP best practices.

• Coordinate with corporate IT and SAP support teams for escalated issues.

• Prepare regular performance and system health reports for management.

• Support integration of SAP with other site systems and third-party applications.

Certifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate (preferred)

• ITIL Foundation (advantageous)

• Oil & Gas Industry Safety Certifications (preferred)

Technical Skills

• SAP ECC / S/4HANA Operations

• SAP Modules: MM, PM, FI/CO (core for oil & gas)

• Database Management (Oracle, HANA)

• System Monitoring & Performance Tuning

• Basic Networking & Infrastructure Knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

• Maintain SAP system uptime of 99.9% or higher.

• Resolve SAP-related issues within agreed SLA (e.g., 4 hours for critical issues).

• Ensure 100% compliance with company data security and operational standards.

• Deliver monthly performance and system health reports on time.

• Achieve team training and development goals as per annual plan.

Reporting Structure

• Reports directly to the Site IT Manager.

• Collaborates closely with Operations team for site-specific requirements.

• Coordinates with Corporate SAP teams for escalations and system updates.
