Wood is seeking a Commercial Fisheries Manager to join our Technical Consulting team on a part-time contract basis. This role will support a key client and can be based at either our Staines or Aberdeen office. For the ideal candidate, we are open to considering remote working arrangements within the UK.

The Role
This role ensures effective management of fisheries liaison services, transparent financial oversight, and strong collaboration between contractors, operators, and fishers. By integrating stakeholder feedback into project planning and fostering open communication, the Commercial Fisheries Manager safeguards both operational efficiency and community trust while driving best practices in fisheries management.
The role also involves building strong stakeholder relationships by acting as a trusted interface between project teams, contractors, and the fishing community. It requires proactive engagement to anticipate potential conflicts, ensure timely resolution of issues, and safeguard the interests of both the project and local fishers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Key Objective of this role are:
- Manager for the contract with ERM for CFLO services (Company Fisheries Liaison Officer) who are the day-to-day interface with fishers.
- Manager for the contract with NFFO (National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations) for OFLO, Scout Vessels & Disruption Payment Processing Services.
- Oversight of a budget across those 2x contracts.
- Establishment of new contract with independent 3rd party to audit and assure information and payments made to/by CFLO, NFFO and fishers.
- Oversight and performance management of ERM & NFFO.
- Review and approval of project fisheries documentation produced by ERM.
- Project contact for ERM and NFFO for implementation of requests/actions received from fishers into engineering and construction plans.
- Establish quarterly meetings between parties to drive alignment and share best practice on fisheries management. Consider joining wider Operator networks.
- Support CFLO with regular direct f2f engagement with fishers.

Expected:
- Experience of being either a CFLO or an Operator Commercial Fisheries Manager
- Prior project experience of dealing with commercial fisheries (ideally in UK)
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive alignment between operators, and foster collaborative relationships
- Skilled in conflict resolution and proactive in identifying and mitigating risks related to fisheries management
