Facility Specialist Intern

The Facility Specialist Intern works under the guidance of the Facility Manager and Facility Specialist, providing support in facilities assessments, maintenance activities, and various operational projects. The intern will assist with routine inspections, participate in facility-related initiatives, and gain hands-on experience in the safe and cost-effective operation of the assigned facility.

This role is designed to provide immersive learning experiences in facility management with a focus on process improvement, safety, and asset preservation.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the coordination of base maintenance activities within various Business Lines and Functions.
  • Assist the Facility Management (FM) team in terms of tracking, permits, and contractor communications.
  • Participate in implementing quality control programs using LEAN methodology to help standardize and optimize facility performance.
  • Contribute to facility special projects that support FM activities in operations, property management, engineering, and construction.
  • Support to plan services, such as routine maintenance, repairs, custodial services, and basic safety operations.
  • Assist in coordinating preventive maintenance activities and help optimize productivity and equipment utilization.
  • Research and suggest potential improvements or new methods to enhance service quality and safety
  • Support preparation of basic documentation and assist with the administration of service agreements.
  • Participate in site-based audits to ensure cleanliness and support operational standards for the facility.

Exposures and Experiences
  • Recent graduate in an Engineering or related technical field.
  • Strong desire to learn about facility management and operations.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and attentive to details
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
