Your role and responsibilities

In this role, the Fieldbus Test Engineer will be responsible for conducting PROFINET and PROFIsafe conformance testing for each RW release, ensuring both automated and manual test execution within the integrated test framework. As part of the release cycle, the engineer will validate compliance and prepare ABB manufacturer's declarations to customers, confirming that a thorough self-assessment has been completed. This role is key to maintaining product quality, reliability, and adherence to industry standards across all RW releases.

This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation R&D in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Execute PROFINET and PROFIsafe conformance tests for each RW release, using both automated and manual methods.
• Update and maintain the test bundle annually to align with changes introduced by standard bodies.
• Create detailed bug reports, perform minor investigations, and support resolution of identified issues.
• Prepare and provide test protocols required for ABB manufacturer's declarations with each release.
• Collaborate with release teams to ensure compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the testing framework.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.
• 4 - 8 years of experience in product testing.
• Hands-on experience in testing PROFINET and PROFIsafe protocols and certifying them for conformance.
• Proven ability to interpret standards and translate changes into test specifications.
• Experience in running tests from Azure Cloud, generating test reports, and documenting results.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and fix errors in test suites.
• Ability to investigate root causes of bugs and report findings to development teams.
• Proficiency in automation of tests using C#.
• Knowledge of Fieldbus protocol testing (Device Net, EtherNet/IP, CC-Link).
• Familiarity with integrating GenAI into test automation.
• Competence in developing test strategies and improving testing frameworks.
