Job Title : ABB Talent Pool - QE Automation/ Test Automation

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property(IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

ABB is seeking highly motivated and innovative Engineers of R&D team to join its talent pool for upcoming opportunities across Electrification, Automation, and Motion businesses at across multiple locations in India including Bangalore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Develop an automation strategy to support regression tests (UI and API level tests) based on technical and domain analysis, complexity, and reusability
• Follow best Test and DevOps practices to ensure a high-quality product and excellent user experience
• Introducing or requesting new tools to improve team productivity
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from analysis, design, implementation, and testing to delivery, following best DevOps practices
• Contribute throughout the product development lifecycle, as the team is fully responsible for product quality and delivery
• Actively follow and apply current trends in software testing, technologies, and ABB standards to build high-quality products
• Work in cross-discipline, international, English-speaking teams, using agile development methodology that requires active participation in all team activities.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's / master's degree in Electronics, Computer science or related field with 5 to 12 years of experience in test automation at component, integration and system level.
• Good communication skills in English (written and oral)
• Programming fundamentals and ability to program in at least one programming language preferably C#, Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with testing frameworks preferably Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework
• Experience in UI, API, performance and load testing, GIT
• Experience in working in Agile teams and strong understanding of agile ways of working. Experience with CI/CD and DevOps fundamentals, Version control systems, Jenkins or equivalent tool.
• Good knowledge of communication over HTTP, HTTPS, REST, SOAP protocols with other devices or applications.
• Knowledge of SQL server and database scripting and Knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns, architectural patterns, design tools, data structures
