JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is recruiting for a Lead Inspection Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. his role involves the inspection of products/materials in accordance with Wood, Client, and industry standards and specifications in addition to purchase order requirements. This can occur at various worksites including Wood locations, suppliers, or clients. Competency assessment of inspection personnel and oversight and management of inspection activities are completed in accordance with approved inspection requirements. Accurate reporting of defects and reinspection where required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lead Inspection Engineer will be responsible:

• Promote the awareness of quality management principles in the completion of inspection activities
• Implementation of Quality Management System requirements in relation to inspection activities as directed by their lead/manager, ensuring compliance with Wood Quality standards and/or ISO 9001 and other requirements.
• Identifies and plans quality control activities to be performed and resources required to liquidate programs in line with agreed budgets/schedules. This includes preparation, review, and approval of inspection and test plans.
• Reviews and approves product/material requisitions and validates quality control and certification requirements.
• Assigns and coordinates product/material inspection activities in accordance with a purchase order, inspection and test plan, and associated technical requirements.
• Support audits on suppliers and subcontractors as required
• Manages and analyses data arising from non-conformance and corrective actions.
• Provides input to and participates as required in quality management reporting and reviews
• Undertakes investigations of quality-related failures
• Mentor and develop quality resources

Experience:
  • Minimum qualification degree in Quality Management or related discipline (desirable)
  • Experience - over 15 years of experience and expertise in refinery projects are mandatory.
  • Discipline inspection qualification where required - eg PCN/CSWIP/NACE, etc (essential)
  • Membership of CQI/ASQ or equivalent country-specific body (desirable)
  • Quality auditor qualification by a recognized industry body (desirable)Radiographic interpretation certificate (piping welding inspectors only - desirable)
