Wood is recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Trainer to join our team in Equatorial Guinea.
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Trainer, is required to work on the job and work closely with the Heavy Equipment Superintendent to develop and deliver field training to the Mechanics and assess their performance internally.
Location: Equatorial Guinea
Rotation Work Pattern: Rotational position, rotation and work schedule TBC

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Trainer, is required to work on the job and work closely with the Heavy Equipment Superintendent to develop and deliver field training to the Mechanics and assess their performance internally.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Hand-On Instruction: Conduct practical, hand-on training sessions demonstrating techniques and best practices for repair and maintenance.
- Assess Performance after a critical Troubleshooting or Repair: Evaluate the mechanics skills and knowledge through practical assessment and feedback sessions and report to Superintendent.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Emphasize and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all mechanics.
- Offering Ongoing Support: Provide continuous technical support, mentorship, and guidance to mechanics and new trainees to foster their professional development and advice key stakeholders (i.e.) Superintendent and competent assessors.
- Troubleshoot and Diagnose: Use diagnostic tools to help mechanics troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and determine root cause of problems.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of heavy equipment is required.
- Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals to identify and solve equipment problems and basic computer literacy, including experience with Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDFs.
- Safety Expertise: Thorough understanding of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
- Instructional Ability: Experience in or aptitude for training and teaching others.
- Communication Skills: Excellence writing and verbal communication skills are necessary for developing materials and conveying instructions clearly.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and assist multiple mechanics effectively.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, sometimes in challenging conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Degree or relevant technical qualification
- Several years relevant industry experience as Heavy Equipment & Vehicle on The Job Trainer
- Strong background as a heavy equipment mechanic with significant experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment machinery.
- Fluent in English language written and verbal.
