The Emerson Test & Measurement Transportation Business Unit Systems R&D team has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work in research, design and development of systems from concept to release, providing technical leadership to the research and development team and execution excellence on all initiatives.

You will develop software - focusing on LabVIEW FPGA components - for state-of-the-art ADAS test platforms that automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers use to create and test innovative new generation vehicle architectures.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Independently contribute to the research, design and development of software components and features through to final release
• Act as a subject matter expert for FPGA related topics for ADAS and automotive HIL solutions
• Ensure adherence to development processes and best practices
• Facilitate decisions necessary to deliver a quality product in a timely fashion
• Review work quality and provide mentorship

For This Role, You Will Need:

• BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in software and systems development
• Proficiency in high-throughput FPGA development
• Strong understanding of system design, development and testing principles
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability and sense of urgency
• Ability to lead and work effectively in a team
• Ability to learn fast
• English language competency and excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Demonstrated success using high-level programming languages (e.g. C++)
• Experience with NI products, including LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA and VeriStand
• Understanding of transportation industry, ADAS, HIL (Hardware in the Loop) systems, vehicle bus architectures
• Experience in Agile methodologies and using Azure DevOps
• Proven experience in development of integrated hardware and software projects
