Title:
Senior Principal Estimator

The Sr. Principal Estimator will lead the estimating function for large-scale onshore and offshore FPSO projects within the oil and gas sector. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering accurate cost estimates across all phases of project development-from concept through execution-ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with corporate and client objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the estimating team for onshore and offshore projects, providing guidance, mentoring, and technical expertise.
• Develop estimating strategies, methodologies, and tools tailored to specific types of projects - FPSO projects knowledge is a plus.
• Ensure estimates align with corporate standards, industry benchmarks, and client expectations.

Cost Estimation & Analysis

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and operations.
• Analyze project scope, technical specifications, and execution plans to identify cost drivers and risks.
• Benchmark estimates against historical data, market trends, and vendor quotations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with engineering, procurement, project controls, and commercial teams to ensure integrated cost estimates.
• Liaise with clients, partners, and subcontractors to validate assumptions and secure competitive pricing.
• Present estimates and cost models to senior management and external stakeholders.

Risk & Value Management

• Identify cost risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project economics
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario planning for project decision-making.

Systems & Compliance

• Maintain and enhance estimating tools, databases, and software systems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in cost estimating within the oil and gas industry, with exposure to offshore projects, 4 years of which should be in management.
• Strong knowledge of FPSO design, construction, and operations, including topsides, hull, mooring, and subsea interfaces.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Aspen Capital Cost Estimator, Cleopatra, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary estimating teams.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
