The Role

Weatherford is seeking a Well Engineer / Desk Engineer to support well operations across Indonesia, based in Jakarta. This role provides engineering, planning, and real-time operational support for Well Services activities, including Coiled Tubing, Wireline, and Slickline operations.

Reporting into the Well Engineering / Operations leadership team, the role acts as a key technical interface between field operations, product lines, and clients. The successful candidate will contribute to safe, efficient well execution through robust planning, engineering analysis, and operational support, while building hands-on experience across a variety of well intervention activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career well services professional looking to transition into a desk-based engineering role with strong exposure to live operations and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and operational support for well services activities including Coiled Tubing, Wireline, and Slickline operations.
• Support well planning activities such as job design, risk assessments, operational procedures, and post-job reporting.
• Assist with real-time operational decision support to field teams to optimize performance and mitigate operational risk.
• Prepare and review technical documentation including programs, procedures, presentations, and end-of-job reports.
• Support QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with Weatherford's Management System, HSE, and Quality standards.
• Liaise with Product Lines, Operations, and third-party providers to ensure effective execution of well programs.
• Participate in tender support and technical input for client proposals as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and technical knowledge sharing across the team.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and service quality at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Well Services, Coiled Tubing, Wireline, or Slickline operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred).
• Solid understanding of well intervention operations and field execution workflows.
• Experience supporting or working alongside field crews and operational teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Full working rights in Indonesia.

Preferred

• Prior experience in a Desk Engineer, Field Engineer, or Operations Support role.
• Exposure to well planning software, engineering calculations, or real-time operational support.
• Experience working with multiple product lines or integrated well services.
• Strong safety mindset and familiarity with industry HSE standards.
