This Position reports to:
Digital Solution Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and facilitate the development, implementation, and successful onboarding of digital solutions for terminal and logistics environments. Each day, you will support the adoption of ABB's Yard Management System and associated access control components-such as barriers, weighbridges, and card readers-into the customer's business operations, and ensure their seamless maintenance and evolution. You will also showcase your expertise by participating in ideation workstreams: identifying and validating customer needs, then defining and delivering solutions.

Hybrid work model: home working, customer visits and 2 days onsite per week in Etten‑Leur, Netherlands.

This role is contributing to the Digital Solutions product group in Benelux (Netherlands & Belgium). Main stakeholders are customers, the Digital Solution Engineering Manager, technical leads, and internal software teams.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and facilitate the development, implementation, and successful onboarding of digital solutions. Each day, you will support the adoption of digital platform and solutions into the customer business environment along with their subsequent operations and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by participating in the ideation workstreams from identifying and validating the needs to defining the development.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Performing a variety of software engineering tasks in one or more areas of the assigned areas such as software development, software quality engineering, software testing, DevOps, cybersecurity, software release, support and maintenance, and/or release management, with limited supervision.
  • Developing cutting-edge software modules for terminal and logistics systems, including access control hardware integration.
  • Designing and extending functionality for the Yard Management System to optimize vehicle flow and provide real-time site visibility.
  • Independently executing development projects, and collaborating with technical leads to determine and implement the best technical solutions.
  • Performing software testing, debugging, code review, and continuous quality assurance.
  • Deploying solutions on time and within budget, including participating in on-call duties approximately every three weeks.
  • Providing customer training and ongoing support to ensure successful rollout and sustained adoption.
  • Contributing to the software roadmap by suggesting new features, enhancements, and product variants.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are highly skilled in software development and passionate about industrial digitalization.
  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in ICT or equivalent experience.
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in software development, ideally in industrial or logistics environments.
  • You possess strong technical knowledge in C#, Windows Forms, WPF, WebAPI, Xamarin, and SQL, and familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
  • You demonstrate advanced testing, debugging, and DevOps practices, with experience in maintaining high software quality.
  • You are passionate about problem-solving, continuous learning, and delivering impactful solutions.
  • You have excellent English communication skills.
  • You hold any required work permits/visa for employment in the Netherlands.
