Job Description
- Create and maintain master production schedules aligned to customer demand, capacity, and inventory targets
- Balance constraints (capacity, materials, lead times, yields) to optimise throughput and on-time delivery
- Run scenario analyses and recommend plan changes to address demand variability
- Execute MRP to ensure timely procurement and availability of components and raw materials
- Maintain accurate planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, min/max, BOMs)
- Convert master schedules to finite production schedules; sequence work orders to maximize flow
- Monitor shop floor progress, resolve constraints, and drive recovery plans to protect customer commits
- Facilitate daily/weekly tier meetings to communicate priorities and risks
- Control WIP and FG inventory to targets; reduce excess and obsolescence
- Track and improve planning health metrics (schedule adherence, plan stability, inventory turns)
- Partner with Operations, Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Finance to align plans with realities
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes with integrated ramp and cut-in plans
- Communicate plan changes, risks, and mitigations to stakeholders and leadership
- Identify and execute improvements in planning processes, system usage, and data quality
- Maintain master data accuracy; drive root cause and corrective actions for plan misses
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field and/or equivalent experience
- Good experience in production planning, materials planning, or supply chain (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and good working knowledge of Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lean principles, standard work, and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of BOM structures, routings, and capacity modelling
- Experience within aerospace or other highly regulated industry
- On-Time Delivery to Customer/Promise
- Results orientation with strong follow-through
