JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Ampol to deliver leading maintenance services to their Lytton site.
We are currently seeking experienced SMP Supervisors to join our team for the 2026 Ampol Turnaround, with availability to start in May.

The Role
You will be required to provide leadership and to safely execute planned shutdown activities in line with Wood's responsibilities and scope of work, while reporting to our T&I Leads and Superintendents.
This is a Brisbane-based role, locally based applicants are preferred at this time, however, consideration will be given to those living outside of Southeast Queensland with the required skill set and experience. Where applicable, return flights, accommodation, car hire and LAHA are provided.
We will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.

Successful candidates will undergo a full pre-employment medical check and must have current Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications or be able to obtain them in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Well-versed in all elements of workplace health and safety, always striving to eliminate potential for injuries and incidents by proactively managing safety.
- Accountable for the delivery of project / shutdown scope as per approved schedule completion date.
- Lead team members, ensuring that your team works towards the best practice delivery of the tasks at hand.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, work practices and procedures.
- Participate in estimating of shutdown activities.
- Participate in the development of schedules and work packs to ensure all work is executed to safety and quality standards and on time.
- Accountable for the delivery of project / shutdown scope as per approved schedule completion date.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous supervisory experience in a similar role within the Energy, Resources and Industrial industries. Oil Refinery experience will be highly regarded.
- The successful candidate will have solid experience in leading teams, people leadership, managing conflict, problem solving, project management and change management.
- Thorough knowledge and advocate of good HSE behaviours, systems and procedures.
- Ability to constructively collaborate across all site departments.
- Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to supervise stakeholder relationships.
- Good understanding and advocate of Quality Assurance systems and procedures.
- Able to work to schedules and prioritise activities and resources to meet workplace demands.
- Competent in reading Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID's), Technical Drawings and Maintenance Manuals.
