Job description
• Monitor and supervise mechanical construction activities including piping, equipment installation, and welding.
• Ensure mechanical works are executed in accordance with project drawings,
specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and planning teams to resolve technical issues and maintain schedule alignment.
• Track and document daily time-on-tools using IOC tools , and
monitor installation durations versus estimates
• Ensuring proper planning, qualified personnel, and safety documentation are in place prior
to commencing work.
• Participate in mechanical inspections, punch listing, and system walkdowns.
• Verify contractor work progress and support quantity tracking and reporting.
• Ensure mechanical contractors adhere to site safety protocols and participate in toolbox talks and safety audits.
• Support mechanical completion and turnover processes including documentation and system handover.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the IHE process and ensure verification and validation are completed before starting any activity
• The Construction Rep should be 90% in the field, 10% in the office for reporting
• Participate in TAR planning and execution, including punch list resolution, quality audits, and post-TAR assessments
Profile
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in mechanical construction within the oil and gas or
heavy industrial sector, with expertise demonstrated in:
o Piping fabrication and installation
o Welding processes and inspection
o Mechanical completion and turnover procedures
• Proven experience in Turnaround, Brownfield and Greenfield execution, including
SIMOPS and offshore tie-ins
• Strong understanding of mechanical construction practices, codes, and standards.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
• Effective communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive approach to safety, quality, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with construction management systems and documentation practices.
• Be certified as AWS D11 and CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector.
