Job Description Summary

We're hiring for a Senior Manufacturing Staff Manager - Operations Management to cover maternity leave through to June 2027.

In this role, you will lead one of four OE Supply Chain product teams on our Cheltenham campus, setting strategic direction, driving growth plans, executing NPI, and providing day-to-day operational leadership grounded in LEAN methodologies.

You will be accountable for delivering critical Global Supply Chain (GSC) outcomes across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), as well as NPI execution, consistently exceeding customer expectations.

This role reports to the Site Leader. Direct reports include Production Leaders, with indirect leadership responsibilities across Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Sustainment Engineering, Materials, and Sourcing. The team comprises more than 100 members.

Job Description

• Define and execute the short- and long-term vision to meet customer and business needs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Inventory, NPI execution, and growth.
• Own supply chain execution for the product line's Tollgate process and related projects.
• Partner with Sourcing to optimise the make/buy footprint with a global GE Aviation Systems perspective.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key customers alongside Program/Venture leaders; lead weekly and monthly customer operations and internal program reviews.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to deploy new technologies that enable safer, more productive shop-floor workflows.
• Engage early with Product/Engineering in the NPI process to drive manufacturability, define test equipment, reduce prototype cycles, and ensure a successful launch with maximum value realisation.
• Identify, share, and institutionalise best practices across teams.
• Implement robust risk and change management processes.
• Own Plant & Equipment strategy and execution, ensuring adherence to operating plan spend and timing.
• Influence across the GE matrix to deliver results through teams outside direct line control.
• Lead daily management with rigor, developing a strong problem-solving culture.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university/college
• Significant experience in Manufacturing & Operation Management gained within a c omplex, highly regulated manufacturing sector (e.g., aerospace, automotive, industrial, medical devices)
• Proven ownership of a value stream or product line with end-to-end accountability (planning, production, quality, materials, sourcing)
• Consistent track record improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
