JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role

As a Shipping Specialist, you will play a key role in coordinating and executing end-to-end transportation and logistics activities for both domestic and international shipments. With a strong focus on compliance, cost optimization, and supplier delivery performance, you will help ensure that goods move efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory requirements.

The role supports the implementation and continuous development of the SCM Global Shipping Organization, contributing to standardized processes and improved logistics performance across regions. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with CBAM and SKAT regulations, while providing operational logistics support to Buyers and internal stakeholders.

Acting as the primary point of contact for freight planning and execution, you will oversee transportation planning, invoice processing, and documentation accuracy. You will also coordinate heavy-lift and project-related logistics, working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal project teams to support specialized and complex shipments.

  • Manage and optimize local transportation routes (e.g. KAL-BRB-KAL), ensuring contractual compliance, service performance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Identify and drive freight cost optimization initiatives through volume negotiation, shipment consolidation, and proactive logistics planning.
  • Monitor transportation performance, resolve supplier or carrier-related issues, and collaborate closely with Buyers to improve delivery reliability and transit times.
  • Lead CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) execution, including data collection, documentation validation, and reporting for all applicable imports.
  • Manage SKAT customs documentation and freight invoice processing in line with Danish customs, tax regulations, and internal compliance standards.
  • Process and validate all freight invoices in Basware, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate cost allocation and financial reporting.
  • Support heavy-lift and project logistics, including preparation of Purchase Orders for heavy-lift vessels and coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal project teams for specialized shipments.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field

  • Highly proactive and adaptable, comfortable working in a changing environment and under pressure
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and across cultures
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and capable of taking ownership of processes end to end
  • Experience with data, reporting tools, or systems (e.g. Basware); Power BI or Python is considered a plus
