The Role

Wood is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls EIT in Vancouver, BC to join our busy and growing Projects Canada team due to growth in our business within BioProducts and Oil and Gas. The role of the I&C EIT will be to work on small and large projects with a senior engineer.

• Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market. Salary range for this position is CAD $74,000 - 112,000 per year. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical responsibilities

• Interfacing with various engineering disciplines

• Project Execution may include but not limited to:
  • Specifying, selecting and sizing field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level)
  • Development of instrument datasheets
  • Support Senior Engineers in assigned deliverables and tasks
  • Preparing instrument lists (I/O, instrument index, load lists, etc)
  • Support in the development of Material Take Offs (MTO's)
  • Preparing Instrument Loop diagrams and termination wiring
  • Support with the development of Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and award recommendations for various instrumentation commodities

Expected:

• Instrumentation Technologist or Bachelors in Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University or College.
• Willingness to learn and grow within Instrumentation and Control systems
• Minimum of 1 + years of industry experience
• Good understanding of CSA
• Existing experience in the BioProducts or Oil and Gas sector is preferred
• Ability to problem-solve
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

• Experience in the use of AVEVA Instrumentation or Smart Plant Instrumentation is an asset.
• Registration through EGBC or APEGA as an EIT is an asset
