Wood has an opportunity for an experienced Telecommunication Engineer that has previous experience of working across Feasibility Studies and FEEDs, plus EPC and PMC projects. This is an opportunity for you to become a valuable, well-rounded of an experienced team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop Key Telecoms Drawings & Documents i.e. Standards & Specifications, System Block Diagrams, Layout drawings, Calculations (e.g. radio traffic, PABX traffic)
• Review and approve all telecoms drawings / documents and check the design quality and technical accuracy on assigned project
• Resolve technical issues with respect to Telecommunication system
• Prepare material requisitions for Telecoms equipment, technical bid evaluations, and review suppliers' documents
• Attend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT's) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT's) for Telecommunication item/system to comply with the applicable specification, procedure, codes and standards on assign project.
• Assist the electrical designers with the preparation of electrical / telecoms drawings
• Review, comment, and input the project schedule
• Provide information to project cost estimate (e.g. manpower, manhour required for execution of work)
• Site checking and verification
• Preparation of specification for installation and test procedures
• Construction supervision, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning work support

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor in electrical /Instrument /Telecommunication Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in oil and gas industry. However, experience in petrochemical industry also can be proposed for consideration
• Experience for at least 3 projects in brownfield project and modification work
• Proven track record in a similar position, with a strong background in Telecommunication engineering in Refinery Petrochemical / Chemical / Power / Pharmaceutical Plant Projects
• Knowledge in international codes & standards
• Have extensive experiences in Telecommunication System Design (e.g. Fibre optic, Satellite, WiMax, Trunked Radio, Microwave, VSAT, SSB, RACON, PA / GA, Telephone, Talk-Back, WAN / LAN, WLAN, CCTV, Radio (Tower / Antenna, UHF, VHF, VoIP, DTRS), Firewall, and Access Control of offshore and onshore facilities.
• Expertise in Telecommunication engineering document and drawing package e.g. Telecoms philosophy, Telecoms system general block diagram, Telecoms equipment specifications, Telecom equipment list, Telecoms interface document, Telecom equipment list, Telecoms interface document, Telecoms cable routing drawings.
• Be able to select explosive protected equipment as per hazardous area classification
• Be able to participate in technical clarification, and technical bid evaluation
• Be able to prepare material take off within project timeline
• Be able to prepare scope of work for construction
• Additional experience in construction or commissioning is preferable
• Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful, and proactive
• Possess good interpersonal skills with good written and spoken in English
• Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win
• Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork
