Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to purchase goods from internal (feeder factories) and external suppliers according to the delivery schedule, transportation mode, price, special requirements, and terms and conditions. Each day, you will ensure purchasing activities are aligned with company purchasing policies and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by handling urgent situations to ensure timely deliveries.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

Based in Longmeadow, Johannesburg, and reporting to the Service Manager, the Fulfillment Specialist will work closely with team members from the Production, Engineering, and Project Management departments to ensure deadlines are met.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Releasing purchase requisitions and initiating purchase orders in the system, aligning them with customer requirements (based on ERP and standard operation procedures) and as per the release strategy and table of authorities.
• Monitoring suppliers' order acknowledgments and dispatch advice.
• Tracking the purchase orders backlog and performing regular expending activities with internal (feeder factories) and external suppliers to ensure customer on-time delivery.
• Minimizing the late backlog by proactively identifying root causes and implementing recovery plans; and tracking goods received at the warehouse to verify appropriate delivery and ensures invoice processing and high customer service level.
• Identify & qualify new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.
• Negotiate agreements with main suppliers and periodically renew price lists and terms and conditions
• Tracks goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensure invoice processing
• Oversee supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolve performance issues
• Aligns supplier orders with customer requirements (based on ERP or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability, and price

Qualifications for the role

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in Supply Chain, (2 years of experience in procurement roles).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• English fluency (written and spoken) is required.
• Diploma in supply chain management
