Job Description:

Shell is looking to hire a Millwright Mechanical Technician (MTIM) Co-op Student for the period from May - August 2026 for our Sarnia Manufacturing Centre.

The Sarnia Manufacturing Centre, Corunna Refinery is located on the St. Clair Parkway, about 10 kilometers south of Sarnia between the communities of Froomfield and Corunna. The refinery processes approx. 75,000 bbl of raw crude into a range of petroleum products such as diesel, jet fuel and various petrochemicals. Shell, Sarnia Refinery has approximately 350 employees.

This position reports to the Maintenance Team Leader in the Maintenance Department who is accountable to provide Millwright/Rotating and associated Maintenance at our Sarnia facility. This position will work a Day Worker Schedule called "AWS" which is a Monday to Friday schedule with approximately every 3rd Friday off.

During the Co-op you will:

• Gain exposure to several key facets of our Refinery
• Gain a level of appreciation for the nature of working in a refinery environment
• Report to a multi-craft coordinator
• Work under the direction of a qualified journey-person
• Become familiar with our Safety, Environmental and Maintenance Execution practices and process.
• Participate in preventive as well as corrective types of work.
• Learn effective methods of executing maintenance tasks and incorporating sound quality and reliability principles

Upon completion of the co-op work term, the student will have the opportunity for performance and development related dialogue with a Shell staff member. An evaluation can be completed and discussed during this dialogue.

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in the Millwright Mechanical Technician (MTIM) program in order to be considered for this position.
• A keen interest in learning and developing new skills.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada for anyone other than current employer.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate at own expense.
• Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level.
• Willing to comply with Shell's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Willing to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment.

• A condition of employment for this position is successful completion of a pre-placement medical
