Scope of responsibility:

The Head of Execution DG APAC will be responsible for growing TotalEnergies's leadership in the I&C solar sector by developing its technical operations, engineering design, and project delivery capabilities. This entails set up of project delivery organization across the region.

Geographical Coverage:

9 countries in APAC region: SG, VN, IN, PH, TH, MY, KH, JP, SK

Key numbers:

The Head of Execution will be responsible for running 2 major activities - Coordination with Engineering Center (PH) and Project Management covering design, construction, commissioning, and operational oversight of projects:

• 30-50 projects and >80MW to complete every year
• >70M$ of CAPEX per year
• A team of 25 project managers to coordinate at Hub level
• Member of DG APAC Management Committee

HSE:

Strong HSE dimension for project construction sites.

• Competitive environment: the Business operates in a very competitive environment with both local and international players, requiring cost reduction and performance processes improvement, to develop and implement new strategies adding more value, etc
• Volatile regulatory framework generating constraints and opportunities in each country. Project execution must evolve in line with the local regulation.
• JV operating model in partnership with Eneos, adding more complexity to the validation of projects, budgets and strategies of implementation in the region
• Highest HSE and compliance standards to be implemented at all levels, in all operated sites and within the JV (Japan).

• The Head of Execution will act according to TotalEnergies policies and compliance values
• Achieve zero fatality and maintain high HSE standards at all projects and all times
• Deliver solar projects within approved parameters for schedule, budget, scope, and quality / performance
• Operate the asset portfolio at high level of performance
• Secure procurement strategy to keep pricing highly competitive

Activities

• Oversee technical operations including project management, engineering, and execution for DG APAC
• Identify and implement processes and systems necessary to scale technical organization to construct a DG APAC portfolio in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner
• Coordinate a multi-level team of local project delivery professionals (project managers, project engineers, , etc.) with adequate balance between internal and external resources
• Scale and coordinate together with the Country managers the technical organization, maintaining high employee engagement enabling career progression and competency development
• Oversee the assessment and award of EPC contractors in collaboration with each country of DG APAC
• Provide support for due diligence in case of M&A development projects and issue recommendations to the management of DG APAC, in collaboration with the local organization
• Conduct regular and processed reviews, technical inspections / audits of the projects - from pre-design / final design / Tender and choice of the EPC phases by the local organizations
• Responsible for the coordination of Monthly "execution project review", as well as for reporting at Hub level, according to the templates provided by REN/DG Central
• Anticipate the potential challenges to ensure the execution of the projects in budget and time
• Share transverse information across the Hub, ensuring a consistent rolled out of standards and regular REX
• Provide transparent information to management on progress of projects under execution or operation in the hub
• Ensure high HSE standards at all times, and promotes company values to teams, contractors, clients, partners and all stakeholders
• Identifies and implements procurement strategies to keep pricing highly competitive
• Supporting sales and business development efforts on technical aspects of customer acquisition
• Contribute to the recruitment of a highly capable team in all markets, despite limited local talent pool available
• Participate in the continuous improvement process of DG's technical entities, through the exchange of best practices and development workshops with Central DG and other Hubs

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience setting up and running operations with larger numbers of people
• Bachelor degree in Engineering; Master Degree is a plus
• More than 10 years of experience in the engineering, project management, program management. Project delivery with at least 5 years in management / leadership position is a plus.
• Experience in I&C solar projects a plus - including engineering, construction, project management, and / or operation of projects
• Working experience in APAC region is a plus - including proven project track record and management of local teams
• Experience in negotiations of EPC contracts; negotiation of regional procurement contracts a plus
• English, French and other Asian language is a plus
