Our client is seeking a Senior Buyer responsible for managing sourcing, procurement, and subcontracting activities for complex maritime and offshore projects.

Function description

The Senior Buyer manages the full procurement cycle, ensuring competitive sourcing, solid contractual agreements, and reliable supplier performance. This role collaborates closely with internal departments and external suppliers to secure essential services, equipment, and materials required for successful project execution.

Key tasks include preparing tender packages, evaluating offers, conducting negotiations, monitoring supplier performance, and supporting project budgets. The Senior Buyer works cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Project teams to ensure timely and compliant delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships and adhering to company safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

Must have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (technical or supply‑chain related preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, subcontracting, or senior buying roles.
• Fluent Dutch and English.
• Knowledge of logistics and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to travel when required.

Nice to have:

• NEVI or equivalent purchasing qualification.
• Experience in the offshore or maritime industry.

Eligibility & Location Requirements:

• Must already live in the Netherlands.
• Must have EU citizenship or valid Dutch work permit.
• No visa sponsorship provided.
• Able to commute to Schiedam a few days per week (hybrid working).
