This Position reports to:
Local Division Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a team of HSE experts. Each day, you will make sure the team keeps developing capabilities and skills, supporting the business in the implementation of policies, practices and programs. You will also showcase your expertise by driving behavioral change and HSE learning within the organization.

The work model for the role is: Onsite/ Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Motion Business Area in Southern Africa. Main stakeholders are Business Manager Motion South Africa, Division Manager Motion Service and Region Manager HSE.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Supporting line managers and supervisors in the organization in understanding obligations, liabilities and requirements
  • Ensuring appropriate tools and measures are in place and used effectively, at the same time reporting the HSE incidents.
  • Reporting on HSE performance and progress with respect to the Group objectives
  • Drive behavioral change and ensuring HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards and best practices

Qualifications for the role
  • You are highly skilled in leading a team and understanding HSE requirements for our Electrical Industry and you enjoy working with people and constantly upskilling yourself with all relevant HSE courses to ensure you stay relevant in our Industry.
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in the Electrical Industry and have established skills. You have minimum 5 -8 years of experience in managing HSE requirements for a large division or organization.
  • You are innovative around managing challenging situations on site with your team and solving problems.
  • Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant field. Have a demonstrated track record in managing HSE responsibilities for a large division or organization in Southern Africa,
  • You are at ease communicating in English with senior people and customers
  • You currently hold a certificate from SAMTRAC or ISO 45001 and certification with SACECMP.
