Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Materials Engineer to join the team in Thailand on a temporary basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What makes you remarkable?

• Execute assigned work in accordance with the applicable Project Procedures and Standards, including Company / or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the manhour and cost budgets and the project schedule targets
• Liaise with the Project Engineer regarding the interpretation of Client's Piping Material Specifications and related Standards and Specifications for supplying of material
• Prepare specifications in accordance with Client's and / or Company's requirements for piping materials
• Review and comment on Company's and Client's specifications and procedures as applicable to piping materials specifications, identification and purchase
• Liaise with Project Engineers and Technology Group to establish the full range of piping material specifications required
• Technically review and approve vendor quotations for Procurement. Technically approve Order Variation Summaries
• Manage vendor documents for bulk piping and special items. Coordinate with Technology Group for the review of welding and painting procedures that are submitted by vendors
• Attend co - ordination meetings and engineering review meetings with suppliers as required.
• Co - ordinate and liaise with Design and other Groups including Estimating, Procurement, Construction and Sub - Contracts. Attend meetings as necessary with Vendors and other Groups and advise on problems within the scope of assigned responsibility
• Correct interpretation of material management system for instituting component and material coding to suit material logistics requirements
• Establish and maintain a filing system of project documents and carry out proper close out of all project related work
• Provide leave cover and represent piping materials in the absence of Principal Piping Materials Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• minimum 8 years of Piping Material Engineer experience for Senior level
• Competence in MS office, 2D & 3D CAD software, some experience in Piping Design Software and any of Piping Purchasing/Material Control software
• Experience in piping layout
• Experience in materials selection for specifications engineers
• Producing Piping Special Items
• Ability to identify problems, determines possible solution, and actively works to resolve issues.
• Good command in English communication
• Holding professional/ institution membership as appropriate to level of qualification
