This Position reports to:
Support Services Specialist
The working time model for this position is: Onsite, #LI-Onsite
ABB Training Center Berlin gGmbH is an educational service provider of ABB Germany for dual vocational training programs. The main focus areas of vocational training are metal and electrical engineering as well as mechatronics. We support our customers from ABB business units as well as around 150 partner companies from Berlin and Brandenburg with modern and high‑quality basic training for their apprentices. Qualified and dedicated trainers who use innovative teaching methods and provide individual support to apprentices-imparting not only technical content but also social skills-are the foundation of our success! You are mainly responsible for:
• Conducting practical and theoretical training of apprentices in the field of metal technology
• Teaching knowledge and skills in accordance with the training regulations and internal training plan, as well as carrying out performance assessments of apprentices
• Supporting apprentices in exam preparation and in company‑based and external projects
• Promoting the development of technical, methodological, and social competencies among apprentices
• Collaborating with partner companies, vocational schools, and the responsible Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs)
• Preparing and implementing new teaching and learning concepts with regard to digitalization
Qualifications for the role
• Completed vocational training as a construction mechanic or industrial mechanic
• Ideally further qualification as a state‑certified technician or master craftsman
• Instructor aptitude certification available
• Several years of professional experience combined with strong knowledge in metalworking and assembly as well as pneumatics/hydraulics
• Knowledge in technical communication and the use of CAD‑based systems
• Good IT skills
• Fluent German language skills (spoken and written), English skills are desirable
• Independent and responsible working style as well as willingness to learn
• Team spirit and empathy
