Job Description:

What's the role

MRTA focuses on understanding, maintaining, and optimizing our equipment so it performs as designed-effectively, efficiently, and reliably. The Maintenance discipline encompasses the development of maintenance strategies as well as the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities. Its goal is to ensure safe, defect‑free, and efficient operations by keeping equipment and tools in optimal condition, in the most cost‑effective and timely manner.

The Data Engineer plays a key role in this ecosystem by analyzing inspection and maintenance data to drive continuous improvement and uphold the DGAME 6 Pillars. This role enhances the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency of D‑OPS assets through effective use of CMMS systems (GSAP PM / S4 HANA) and AMS Spotfire databases. The Data Engineer provides actionable insights and reporting to frontline teams, regional groups, and technical services, enabling informed and data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.

What you'll be doing

  • Use data-driven insights to shape business decisions, uncover value-creation opportunities, and lead discussions that enhance reliability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Analyze and report on CMMS and inspection data to identify cost drivers, monitor KPIs, and generate insights supporting compliance with DGAME and DUT standards.
  • Review and evaluate work orders, maintenance indicators, and asset performance to pinpoint opportunities for cost optimization and reliability improvement using CMMS and associated tools.
  • Safeguard CMMS data quality and ensure adherence to DGAME and DUT requirements by identifying data gaps, tracking backlogs, and working closely with asset teams to drive corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain AMS dashboard data and reporting outputs, including terminal-level KPIs, global/regional performance packs, and monthly I&M cost and mitigation tracking.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to monitor data quality (QA/QC) across systems and provide actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Produce Data Quality reports for defined data groups in collaboration with Data Value Owners.
  • Manage DGAME panel data and logic updates, support engineers in indicator interpretation, and contribute to enhancements that strengthen compliance tracking accuracy.
  • Support asset data maintenance resulting from Management of Change (MOC) by delivering data-document consistency reporting and metrics on MOC process efficiency.
  • Extract plant maintenance data from GSAP / S4 HANA to support DOR preparations and respond to queries from regional engineering teams.
  • Identify automation and reporting enhancement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual workload and streamline recurring processes.\
  • Demonstrate strong ownership in managing, executing, and delivering high‑quality work on time, while contributing to continuous improvement and collaborating virtually with global stakeholders.
  • Work flexible hours to accommodate multiple time zones, proactively identify operational or technical issues, and drive resolutions within scope of responsibility.
  • As a self-starter with strong English communication skills, effectively engage with colleagues across diverse cultures, organizational levels, and global regions.

What you bring

  • Experience with, or strong understanding of, DEP‑EIS and Shell RDL data requirements.
  • Competent in CMMS platforms and their application in asset management and maintenance workflows.
  • Skilled in data modeling, data mining, big data analytics, database management, data interpretation, and data storytelling to support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of asset IT systems such as SAP, AIM EDMS / Hexagon, and SharePoint.
  • Proficient with analytics and automation tools, including Alteryx, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and VBA scripting.
  • Experience with PowerApps is an added advantage.
  • Strong capability in data analysis, narrative development, and reporting for technical and business audiences.
  • Exceptional Communication & Collaboration - Communicates clearly and effectively across diverse teams; builds strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritization & Delivery Focus - Adept at balancing multiple priorities while consistently delivering high‑quality outputs within deadlines.
  • Adaptability & Resilience - Thrives in dynamic environments; responds constructively to change and maintains performance under pressure.
  • Initiative & Problem‑Solving - Proactively identifies challenges and opportunities; applies analytical thinking and engineering principles to drive sound solutions.
  • Stakeholder Management & Leadership - Establishes trust and influence across global interfaces; conveys complex issues in an accessible and impactful manner.
  • Attention to Detail - Maintains high standards of accuracy and rigor in data management, documentation, and reporting.
  • Accountability & Integrity - Takes ownership of deliverables and outcomes; openly acknowledges mistakes and uses them as opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Proactive Learning & Resourcefulness - Self‑motivated learner who seeks out knowledge, leverages available resources, and initiates improvements without direction.
  • Critical Inquiry - Asks thoughtful, probing questions to uncover root causes, challenge assumptions, and support robust decision‑making.
