Technip Energies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Site Material Manager / Material Control Manager to join the Net Zero Teesside Power project. This pivotal role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and control of all material management activities on-site to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient project execution aligned with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
The successful candidate will support the Site Material Manager in implementing material management strategies, supervising material control personnel, and ensuring the integrity of material procurement, storage, handling, and distribution processes across the project site.

The successful candidate will support the Site Material Manager in implementing material management strategies, supervising material control personnel, and ensuring the integrity of material procurement, storage, handling, and distribution processes across the project site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Management & Control
- Assist in developing and implementing the overall material management plan for the project.
- Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of all materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and construction teams to ensure materials are available as per the project schedule.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date material tracking systems, including databases and inventory records.
- Manage material storerooms, warehouses, and yard facilities, ensuring proper organization, safety, and security.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify material quality, quantity, and condition.
2. Planning & Coordination
- Support the development of material delivery schedules aligned with construction milestones.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers to coordinate timely deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Collaborate with site construction teams to forecast material needs and prevent shortages or overstocking.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure proper documentation of all material transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on material status, inventory levels, and discrepancies to project management.
- Maintain records for traceability, quality assurance, and audit purposes.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety procedures related to material handling, storage, and transportation.
- Ensure all material activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as company policies.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Support the Site Material Manager in supervising material control staff and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to ensure high standards of performance.
- Foster a collaborative environment with other project teams to facilitate smooth material flow.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in material management workflows.
- Implement best practices to optimize inventory control, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience in material management on large-scale industrial or energy projects, preferably within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or power sectors.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a construction or project environment.
- Strong knowledge of materials control systems, ERP software (e.g., SAP), and inventory management tools.
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and under pressure.
