Join the heart of BBC Drama commissioning and help shape some of the UK's most loved and acclaimed television dramas. As a Commissioning Co-ordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting the Scottish commissioner and commissioning executive across submissions, development, and selected productions-ensuring smooth processes and creative excellence.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Assisting the Scotland based commissioner and commissioning exec you in assessing proposals/scripts and rejecting/ progressing/ allocating ideas, as appropriate, providing feedback submissions
- Produce documentation, collect data and carry out reporting throughout the commissioning process and organise briefings, events, meetings, and travel/accommodation for the team, where necessary as well as other administrative support to the team as appropriate.
- Maintaining development lists on behalf of the commissioner and commissioning exec you work within, developing a deep understanding of the development slate and department editorial priorities.
- You will have the opportunity to work on specific developments, providing notes and attending meetings.
- Built into the role as a development pathway will be the opportunity to support the commissioner and/or commissioning exec on one or two productions at a time - watching cuts, providing notes etc and where appropriate, supporting the editorial, legal and compliance activities on projects
- Provide Awards Coordination for the commissioner you work with - compiling Awards suggestions, collating programme details and submitting for consideration.
- Working with the other commissioning co-ordinators to support the department with events and briefings, and other ad hoc activities
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in Drama TV industry (development and production).
- Ability to read and analyse scripts; knowledge of the TV Drama landscape.
- Strong administrative skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Organised, proactive, and able to handle confidential information.
- Knowledge of commissioning processes and Ofcom regulations.
- Interest in content-making and strong attention to detail.
