Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Site Planner - Expression of Interest - Short Term to join its Singapore business unit, focusing on owning the integrated site schedule and driving planning, progress measurement, and recovery for all disciplines (CSA, Mech/Piping, E&I, Pre Comm/Comm) on an onshore/nearshore oil & gas facility in Basra, Iraq.
This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.
Note: This role is for a short-term basis for a period of 6 months with a potential of extension

Job Purpose
The Lead Site Planner owns the integrated site schedule and drives planning, progress measurement, and recovery for all disciplines (CSA, Mech/Piping, E&I, Pre‑Comm/Comm). The role ensures robust planning governance, credible critical path analysis, and timely, data‑driven decisions to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and control integrated L1-L5 schedules (Primavera P6) aligned with project execution plans, WBS/CBS, and Contract Baseline.
- Establish and manage Rules of Credit (ROC) and progress measurement systems for each discipline/workpack.
- Build resource‑ and cost‑loaded schedules; generate S‑curves, manpower histograms, and quantity curves.
- Lead look‑ahead planning (90/60/30/14‑day) and ensure alignment with daily/weekly field priorities.
- Run what‑if and scenario analyses for constraint removal and recovery plans.
- Track progress vs. baseline productivity KPIs, and variance analyses.
- Produce daily/weekly/monthly planning reports for management, including critical path & near‑critical paths, risk items, and recovery actions.
- Maintain quantity tracking (IFC vs. Installed), workfront readiness KPIs, and backlog/punch visibility.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Construction, QA/QC, and Commissioning to establish Workface Planning alignment.
- Drive workfront readiness (drawings, materials, permits, equipment, access) and remove constraints through structured action tracking.
- Facilitate daily planning meetings with Construction Leads, Discipline Supervisors, and Commissioning.
- Control baseline and change management: prepare time impact analyses (TIA), fragnets, and extension‑of‑time (EOT) recommendations.
- Support claims/defense with delay analysis (prospective/retrospective), cause‑effect Lead schedule risk reviews, integrate risk registers (threats/opportunities), and propose mitigations.
- Develop recovery/acceleration plans, resequencing, and resource leveling/de‑leveling strategies to protect critical path.
- Enforce planning standards: coding structures, calendars, activity IDs, WBS/CBS, logic integrity, and schedule health checks (lags, constraints, negative floats).
- Ensure one‑source‑of‑truth between P6, progress trackers, and completions systems; maintain audit‑ready documentation.

Expected:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil/Mechanical/E&I/Industrial) or related field.
Professional Experience
- 10-15+ years in Planning/Scheduling within oil & gas EPC/industrial projects.
- 5+ years in a lead planning role at construction site level (multidiscipline).
- Demonstrated experience in brownfield/SIMOPS, shutdowns/turnarounds, and commissioning schedules.
- Middle East / Iraq remote site experience preferred.
- Primavera P6 (advanced), schedule risk & forensic planning fundamentals.
- Ability to read multi‑discipline documents (P&IDs, SLDs, IFC drawings, isos, layout plans).
- Strong communicator who can challenge constructively and influence decisions.
- Analytical, detail‑oriented, with bias for action and resilience under pressure.
- Collaborative leader across multicultural site teams and multiple contractors.
- High integrity in reporting and governance.
