This role is a full-time office-based role in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Role:
The Marine Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day supervision of all marine operations on site, including vessel movements, piling barges, near‑shore construction works, dredging activities, marine logistics, and safety compliance. This role ensures that all marine construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and international marine standards.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily marine construction activities: piling barges, crane barges, jack up pontoons, crew boats, tugboats, survey boats.
- Oversee marine works including sheet piling, piling driving, jetty construction, revetments, dolphins, fenders, quay wall installation, and mooring systems.
- Coordinate barge positioning, anchor patterns, and vessel movements to ensure safe operations.
- Monitor dredging, backfilling, and reclamation activities as per project plan.
- Enforce marine safety protocols in alignment with local port authority regulations, and client HSE rules.
- Ensure correct implementation of PTW, JSA, and risk assessments for marine activities.
- Conduct safety inspections on vessels, barges, lifting gears, and marine equipment.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks with marine crews and contractors.
- Liaise with marine subcontractors, tug operators, barge masters, and construction supervisors.
- Schedule daily marine activities and ensure integration with civil and structural work fronts.
- Coordinate with survey teams for bathymetric surveys, setting-out, and positioning.
- Report delays, resource gaps, and marine constraints to Marine Lead/Construction Manager.
- Ensure marine works comply with engineering drawings, method statements, and ITPs.
- Supervise piling records, marine concrete pouring, rebar placement, and structural fit ups.
- Monitor equipment performance—winches, cranes, spuds, anchors, fender installations.
- Support QA/QC in inspections, NCR closures, and punch list resolution.
- Oversee transport of materials by sea/river, including lifting and offloading to barges/jetties.
- Ensure safe mooring, berthing, and anchoring of project vessels.
- Coordinate marine fuel usage, vessel readiness, and consumables for marine works.
- Prepare daily marine activity reports, crew logs, and equipment utilization summaries.
- Track progress against marine construction schedules and highlight deviations.
- Attend coordination meetings with construction, safety, QA/QC, and subcontractors.

Expected:
- Bachelor's in marine engineering, Nautical Studies, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field.
Professional Experience
- 10-15+ years of experience in marine construction supervision.
- Strong background in near‑shore works jetties, quay walls, piling, dredging, mooring systems.
- Experience working in Iraq or Middle East remote site environments preferred.
- Knowledge of barge operations, marine lifting, underwater works, and marine logistics.
