Job Requirement
This opening is for Senior Materials and Corrosion Engineer who will be based in KBR Abu Dhabi Operating Center, UAE. The candidate will be part of a growing team of Materials and Corrosion Engineers supporting various Oil & Gas projects in the Middle East.
The candidate should have proven experience in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering Design (DED), and Concept Select of medium to large scale projects. Good knowledge and understanding of the most prevalent degradation mechanisms in the Oil & Gas Industry and relevant corrosion mitigation strategies with the ability to manage complex projects. Key responsibilities will include preparation of FEED/Detailed Engineering Design philosophies/Design Basis, Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Corrosion Control Documents, etc. Good knowledge and experience in Cathodic Protection deliverables including CP Design Calculations.
Key Skills & Technical Competencies:
• BSc. /B.Eng. Degree Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 12(+) years of experience in Oil & Gas Engineering Projects
• Knowledge of Cathodic Protection design will be an advantage.
• Experience with Middle East projects particularly ADNOC is important.
• Experience of preparing Project Specifications including Corrosion Monitoring, Coatings and Painting Specifications,
• Good knowledge of Integrity Operating Windows and Corrosion Monitoring.
• Good skills in writing comprehensive technical reports, presentation, communication, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
• Good knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and recommended practices.
• Knowledge and application of the latest corrosion modelling software tools including ECE.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and provide practical solutions.
Job Responsibility and Requirement
• Prepare Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Materials Selection & Corrosion Control Philosophies, Corrosion Monitoring & Chemical Injection Philosophies, Cathodic Protection Scope of Work, Material Take Off and Design Calculations.
• Perform corrosion rate modelling using industry recognized corrosion modelling software such as ECE 5.8 (minimum) as part of the material selection process.
• Produce calculations and technical reports as per project requirements.
• Application and Knowledge of the relevant Industry Standards/Recommended Practices such as NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, MR0103/ISO 17495-1.
• Good knowledge of Corrosion Risk Assessment studies and Material & Corrosion Audit process.
• Define corrosion control and mitigation strategies as part of the material selection process.
• Providing materials and corrosion input to other disciplines deliverables, including static equipment datasheets, rotating equipment datasheets, Piping Material Specification, Piping MTO's, P&IDs.
• Provide input to proposals and prepare the manhours' estimates relating to the Materials & Corrosion Deliverables.
• Keep abreast with the latest trends and advancements in material science and corrosion engineering, proactively integrating new technologies and methods into design processes.
Experience required:
• 12 (+) years of Oil & Gas Industry experience required.
• At least 6 years of experience in FEED/DED projects
