Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Safety Engineering Analyst to join the Deterministic Safety Analysis team within Candu Energy in Mississauga, Ontario. In this role, you will contribute to deterministic and probabilistic safety analysis supporting existing and new CANDU Nuclear Power Plants in Canada and internationally. You will play a key role in advancing nuclear engineering excellence while supporting safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.

In this role, you will contribute to deterministic and probabilistic safety analysis supporting existing and new CANDU Nuclear Power Plants in Canada and internationally. You will play a key role in advancing nuclear engineering excellence while supporting safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
Your Role
- Plan, co-ordinate, and supervise complex engineering assignments requiring advanced application of safety engineering principles.
- Review technical documents and analyses prepared by engineers and support staff to ensure quality and technical soundness.
- Prepare inputs to budgets, estimates, schedules, and work packages, and monitor progress against project objectives.
- Apply advanced techniques and modify established theories, guides, and practices to address unique safety analysis challenges.
- Represent the section in technical meetings related to problem resolution, planning, and work co-ordination.
- Supervise and co-ordinate the work of engineers and support personnel, assigning tasks to meet delivery commitments.
- Provide recommendations to management regarding performance, development, and resourcing of supervised staff.
About You
- Ability to apply advanced safety engineering knowledge supported by a relevant engineering or science degree and extensive experience.
- Proficiency in computer environments, with strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows systems.
- Aptitude for applying thermal-fluid sciences, including fluid flow, heat transfer, multi-phase flow, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency in safety and licensing analysis tools such as CATHENA, NUCIRC, GOTHIC, or MAAP, or similar codes.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
