Job Description:

The Accountant Oil and Gas is part of FBT Mexico centre and will indirectly lead a team of skilled financial analysts/supervisors to deliver the business' Accounting Reporting and Control processes for the Upstream Mexico business, including monthly Joint Interest Billings, Cash Calls, Cutbacks, Allocations, coordinate monthly accounting close, etc. In this role, you will provide oil and gas accounting expertise and leadership to team members, driving the generation of actuals and creation of business performance insights that will enable the Upstream Mexico leadership team to continue in country business processes.

Job Summary

• Provide insight to business leads on the actuals and performance of the Upstream Mexico business

• Closely partner with the global team members to align on data submission timelines, while accounting for validation and checks and financial control processes

• Leads effective review and approval of financial statements, delivering results from Shared Services

• Apply knowledge of accounting standards to resolve reporting issues

• Ensures taxes are reported in accordance with Group requirements including additional and supplementary data.

• Provide auditors the information and schedules needed to meet our annual Group and Statutory Audit, working in conjunction with the stakeholders to effectively deliver all requirements.

• Coordinate key monthly processes Joint Interest Billings, Cash Calls, Cutbacks, Allocations, etc etc specific to Upstream

• Provide for proactive interventions to manage in country business processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in Accounting
• A solid professional history in Oil and Gas (5+ years) with proven team leadership and resource utilization
• A long-standing history (8+ years) working with systematic close processes and accounting compliance

Skills & Competencies

• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated individual with the ability to influence others at all levels of the organization

• Strong analytical skills and financial knowledge with demonstrated ability to translate concepts into actions and results

• Understand SAP to manage financial operations, prepare financial statements, and analyze data to provide insights for decision-making

Work Location & Shift Pattern

Santa Fe, CDMX.

8:00am to 5:00pm

Hybrid, 2 days remote 3 days in the office.
