Wood is recruiting for a P&ID Engineer - Field Walkdown & Drafting to join its Iraq business unit focusing on all aspects of P&ID field walkdown and CAD drafting within Facilities Surveillance section on 5/2 work schedule (5 days on/2 days off).

This role is a full-time on-site role in Basra, Iraq

Key Objectives:

Responsible for all aspects of P&ID field walkdown and CAD drafting within Facilities Surveillance section. Tasks and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Conducts Field walkdowns with existing P&IDs and identifies gaps, redlines and drafts the updates
  • Comply with all company procedures, engineering practices and other standards.
  • Read and fully understand Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's).
  • With minimal supervision, prepares simple to complex engineering P&ID drawings.
  • With minimal direction, performs P&ID updates using red-line (as-built) data supplied from engineering.
  • Demonstrates proficient skills in CAD utilizing company's current version of AutoCad and Document Management System (Aconex).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ISA and Piping symbols.
  • Proficient in identifying in field; process/mechanical equipment and instrument/piping components.
  • Ability to create, modify and maintain P&ID drawings using proper drafting standards and follows Management of Change (MOC) information (MOC redline/comments) and as-built red-line comments.
  • Ability to interpret Engineering mark-ups and accurately make drawing corrections.
  • Maintain cooperative, efficient, and good team working environment.
  • Communicate, both verbally and in written form in a professional manner.
  • Reviewing and updating of other integrity critical documents

Expected:
  • 5-10+ years industrial experience working in; P&ID Walkdown & Drafting in Upstream oil and gas industry. Previous Construction / Commissioning experience is preferred.
  • Experience in piping equipment and piping components as currently used in upstream facilities including; pumps, compressors, exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, towers, pipelines, valves, control valves, filters, Piping process codes and piping specifications.
  • Field experience, able to wear required PPE on job-site for verification and as-building of drawings.
  • Engineering Degree is required with good academic credentials


Skills:
  • Strong commitment to safety and company work practices.
  • Proficient in AutoDesk AutoCAD and MS products (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Skills in SmartPlant P&ID preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with an Electronic Document Management System is preferred e.g. Aconex.
  • Good English language skills (written and oral).
  • Technical Documents - can demonstrate knowledge of different types of documents and drawings and is able to visually identify key documents.
  • Willingness to work in the plant area for long hours
