About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and expert Customer Credit Team Leader to oversee and optimize our customer credit operations. This role involves leading a team responsible for managing credit risk, ensuring compliance, and driving efficient processes to support BP BSC KFT's commercial objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the end-to-end credit management lifecycle, including credit assessments, approvals, and collections strategies.
  • Implement and maintain robust business process controls to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Apply commercial competence to make informed credit decisions that balance risk mitigation with business growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and present financial reporting related to credit performance, bad debt provisions, and risk exposure to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control and compliance frameworks, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities.
  • Engage proactively with internal and external partners, including sales teams, customers, and financial institutions, to build strong relationships and resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives to enhance credit management processes, tools, and policies.
  • Negotiate effectively with customers and internal parties regarding credit terms, payment plans, and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct thorough risk management activities, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating credit risks across the customer portfolio.
  • Leverage digital fluency to optimize credit operations through the use of relevant technologies and data analytics.
  • Apply strong analytical thinking to interpret sophisticated financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a credit management or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Credit Management, including credit assessment, risk analysis, and collections strategies.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and experience in preparing credit-related reports.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret sophisticated financial data.
  • Solid grasp of business process control and internal control and compliance frameworks.
  • Highly developed commercial competence with the ability to balance risk and commercial objectives.
  • Exceptional partner engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in negotiating sophisticated terms and resolving disputes.
  • Experience in risk management principles and their application in a credit context.
  • Strong digital fluency, comfortable with applying relevant software and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to contribute to and complete strategic planning initiatives.
  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
