Our supply and trading business, Trading & Shipping (T&S), connects BP to the world's traded markets for oil, gas, power, refinery feedstocks and currencies. We market BP's equity crude oil and natural gas, import feed stocks for our refinery system and buy products to meet marketing demand. We offer a combination of unique expertise in physical supply and trading, innovative financial structures, and world-class analytics to deliver long-term value, from wellhead to end customer.

If the role supports US based activity, it may require some evening shift working.

In this role You will:

• Manage a portfolio of 3rd parties for settlement of financial and physical transactions.
• Accountable for the accurate and timely completion of settlements activities within area of responsibility, which include:
• Generate customer invoices and supporting documentation
• Settle all 3rd party transactions by contractual terms
• Ensure funds are received and paid on time and accurately; liaise with counterparties should any discrepancies occur; provide thorough explanations for any outstanding balances
• Provide accurate details of projected cash flows to enable BP Treasury to manage daily and weekly cash requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Trading & Shipping (T&S) commercial teams
• Ensure delivery of high-quality customer service
• Manage aged debt and cash forecasting
• Deal with a wide variety of ad-hoc queries timely and raise as appropriate
• Identify and assist in delivering continuous Improvement ideas
• Actively participate and support projects as appropriate
• Provide exceptional internal and external customer service to build and strengthen relationships

What You will need to be successful:

• Relevant finance degree and a few years of experience in finance or accounting
• Understanding of Accounts Payable and Receivable settlement principles
• SAP knowledge
• Creating and delivering Continuous Improvements ideas (e.g. process change and/or automation & reporting changes)
• Experience in trading settlements is an advantage & understanding of commodity trading lifecycle (deal execution/entry to settlement) is an advantage.
• Good analytical skills, attention to detail
• Good work ethics and professionalism
• Good problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Readiness for action and ability to work under pressure
• Good collaborator management/customer service capabilities
• Basic change management skills
